Ladies Results & Updates -2nd April 2023

Results for this week:

Monday 27/3, 15 players played a 9 hole single stableford and the Division 1 winner was Cheryl Creighton with 18pts and runner-up was Brian Richards with 16pts. Division 2 winner was Liz Naseby with 21pts and runner-up was Leanne Naseby with 15pts.

Unfortunately, Wednesday's 29/3 game was postponed due to the wet weather. This game, the Monday invitation day, 4 person ambrose will be rescheduled.

Friday 31/3, 16 ladies played a single stableford. The numbers were down due to the Tenterfield 2 day tournament being held and a number of our ladies enjoyed their time away. Winner: Marianne Mannell 33pts Runner-up: Jan Patterson 32pts Third: Kathy McMullan 30pts NTP10th Mt Zion Quarry: Jan Patterson 10th 2nd shot Greensill Bros: Liz Naseby Balls went to 26pts

Saturday 1/4, 8 ladies played their April Monthly Medal and the 2nd WGNSW Medal. Medal winner: Kate Thomson 75nett Runner-up: Kim Perl 77nett c/b Gross winner: Hollie Fuller 76 Putting winner: Christine Danvers 28putts Balls went to Elaine Shand and Carol Toms 77nett

On Monday the final of the Ann Bawden match play was played between Peg James/Millie Harris and Brenda Cooper/Robyn Wilkes. It was an exciting game to watch and all four players played lovely games, but there can one be one winner with Brenda Cooper and Robyn Wilkes winning on the 16th hole 3/2. Congratulations to all 4 ladies for making it to the finals. A big thank you to Soo MacPherson for being the umpire on the day. Also to the ladies that contributed to the morning tea, which ended up being lunch, thank you.

On Friday, Elaine Shand, Brenda Cooper and Kaye Murdoch travelled to Mullumbimby to play in the Northern Rivers 3 person team event. Coolangatta/Tweed Heads were the winners with 152pts and Ballina and Grafton both had 158, but unfortunately we came 3rd on a count back.

I am still taking names for the 5 person interclub teams event at Casino on Friday 28th April.

Thursday and Friday was Tenterfield 2 day tournament and there were only a couple of winners from Grafton. Day 1, Heather Purtill and Janette Blair were runners-up in the Gross with 18pts. Day 2, Shirley Goodger was 3rd in Division 3 with 29pts on a c/b. Grafton ladies advised that day one was extremely windy which made it an interesting game.

Easter Monday, we are having our first Public Holiday 18 hole Medley stableford, so if you don't have anything planned, come and play golf at our beautiful course.

I still require a few share carts for our Interclub day on Wednesday 12/4 with Sawtell, so if you are willing to share your cart please let me know.

Happy golfing Captain Kaye
